Palo Duro Rim RV Campground Review

Palo Duro Rim RV Campground is an awesome place to enjoy all the aspects that Palo Duro Canyon State Park has to offer, without having to lose cell signal within the canyon itself! If you are digital nomads like us and want to get close to the action but still need to work, this really is a perfect option!

Amenities at Palo Duro Rim RV Campground:

While staying at Palo Duro Rim RV Campground you may just be satisfied enough with a very short walk to an incredible view. However, if you do enjoy a few amenities to help enjoy your stay, Palo Duro Rim RV Campground certainly has a few!

No swimming pool or anything like that, but this park has its own ziplines over the canyon as well as some nice bathrooms and a couple cabins if you aren’t traveling with a RV.

We had 30amp full-hookups while staying at the park and it worked perfectly for us. Just be aware that the hookup situation is a bit odd having the water on the opposite side of the RV as electric/sewer, but just bring a longer water hose and all will be well!

Discounts:

None that I am aware of, but being so close to the canyon we were really happy with the $230 price tag for our weekly stay.

Noise Level:

There were a few loud weekend campers, but that can really occur at any campground you go to. So besides that, this campground is extremely peaceful and not really any road noise whatsoever. Do be aware of storms passing through the flat plains as there is really is no protection from wind at all. Our RV was rocking a bit with some passing storm, but we made it through!

Dog Friendly at Palo Duro Rim RV Campground?

Yup! Blaze got to meet quite a few fellow pups on our strolls around the campground. We saw all sorts of sizes of dogs and I am not aware of any restrictions.

Big Rig Friendly?

For sure! There were quite a few longer Class As and some fairly sizeable 5th wheels (although I didn’t see any triple axle 5th wheels). There are some longer sites however that can accommodate the bigger rigs.

Cell Signal and Wifi:

I was a tad concerned when initially reading the reviews of this campground. Most people showed 1-2 bars max of signal and we decided to risk it anyways. Glad we did! Both AT&T and Verizon seemed to work just fine out in the boonies with AT&T being slightly stronger than Verizon. We are able to work without any issues.

Things to Do in the Area:

If you don’t want to go outside of Palo Duro Rim RV Campground itself, then you have some pretty amazing views and some sweet zip lining if you are into that sorta thing. However, Palo Duro Canyon State Park is literally like a 5 minute walk away from the RV Park (granted I recommend driving). None of the trails are near the entrance of the park and the more popular attractions are definitely deeper into the canyon itself.
