Exploring Joshua Tree National Park!

In this adventure we wake up at 4am to get exploring at Joshua Tree National Park! The sunrise on top of the mountain was the goal and it was totally worth the lack of sleep and strenuous hike!

Joshua Tree National Park Before Sunrise

On the first part of our adventure we head up to the top of a mountain! Hard to believe that we got ourselves up to leave at 4am to head out the door (not our usual routine) but we did it! Not only that, but Blaze hopped in the truck with us to start heading toward Joshua Tree National Park!

Although the adventure started off very dark (as shown in the first video above), the light started surrounding us as we were heading up the side of the mountain. It was incredibly beautiful in words I just can not describe. Sure the hike itself was very strenuous and it was race up the mountain to see the next photos below!

Did I mention Joshua Tree National Park sits at around 5,300 ft elevation? On top of that, we were adding another 1000 ft to get up to the top of this particular mountain. It was a wee bit chilly and more so than we expected with the blustery winds blowing right at our faces. The beautiful and that warm sunshine once reaching the top made it more than worth it though.

Going for a Drive Around Joshua Tree National Park

Our day was JUST beginning after hitting up the mountain first thing in the morning. What more could possibly beat that view…well folks, just wait and see in the video above! We take you through some more hiking trails as well as some rough road leading to some amazing views throughout the park.

It is hard to describe how happy we were on this particular trip. It was a nice cool morning, so although the park isn’t particular dog friendly, we were able to leave Blaze in the cool truck while we took some shorter strolls. There were a couple places Blaze could get out and joined us on some viewpoints though later in that second video above!

Although some of the remainder of hikes we took were fairly short, the views were simply incredible and the unique landscape didn’t disappoint in the least. The Joshua Trees themselves were spectacular and we had obviously never seen so many in one place, because Joshua Tree National Park has the largest concentration of Joshua Trees! Simply amazing.
