Exploring Red Arrow Park in Wisconsin

Hey all, we had a blast while exploring Red Arrow Park in Wisconsin! We had no idea this beautiful park was just a few miles north of our campground in Badger Park. One of the best parts about this lifestyle is finding these unexpected gems along the journey and sharing it all with you. 🙂

As always, these photos really only offer a glimpse of what there is to see on this particular adventure. Towards the beginning of this park there is a large open grassy area. In this grassy area it looked like some folks were having fun playing around with their dogs. There are signs to keep your dogs on a leash, but it didn’t seem to keep some folks from letting them run free.

The trail itself to get back to the marshy area wasn’t exactly well labeled, but we did manage to find it. If you make your way through the grassy area and back towards the trees in the southeast corner of the park, you’ll come across a small cleared path that will take you further into the beauty this area has to offer.

As you can see, it is a very dog friendly area, but all Blaze seemed to want to do was take a nap in the morning on this warm sand. The water itself was actually surprisingly warm too being so early in the morning, but it was the end of August so the summer was still in full swing.

There is a boat launch near the grassy area where you can launch a kayak or canoe to explore a bit deeper into the wetlands. This was definitely a perfect day to do so as we spotted a couple taking advantage of this serene area.

If you want a pet friendly place to go for a beautiful stroll along the beach or partake in some bird watching, this might be an area worth checking out. Do watch out for horse flies though as they did seem prevalent in this particular area for whatever reason.
