Hiking Bash Bish Falls State Park in Massachusetts

Whether you come to visit this park via the New York or Massachusetts parking lot, Bash Bish Falls State Park will fill the waterfall void in your life. This was the last adventure on our Massachusetts road trip.

For a quick recap, we went to Balance Rock State Park, Wahconah Falls State Park, Mount Greylock, Natural Bridge State Park, and Clarksburg State Park.

This park was slightly further south due to the fact that we went to visit some family in the area first. SO we might as well hit up a state park while we are in the area right? 🙂

BEAUTIFUL EVEN POST PEAK!

If you read the other posts you’ll know that we made this road trip towards the end October. So it was a bit past peak fall foliage in Massachusetts, but it was still absolutely gorgeous at all the places we visited.

Bash Bish Falls was kind of a unique place because as I mentioned we actually parked in New York and walked across the state border into Massachusetts during our hike. Now I’ve driven across many borders, but this was really my first hike across. I guess that just means we have to go hike the Appalachian trail soon right? 🙂

CROSSING THE BORDER!!!

If you do take the New York to Massachusetts route you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find this absolutely beautiful river flowing right next to most of the trail. I apologize if I had too many pans of the river in our video at the top of this post, but I promise I actually took most of them out.

There are some portions of the trail where some rocks gather in areas large enough so you can feel like you are out in the river itself. Nice to be able to get that experience without actually having to get in a river on a cold fall day. 🙂

TENT CAMPING AND HISTORIC BUILDINGS

Now I won’t lie to you all, the main reason we went to this park was to go see Bash Bish Falls, but there is a lot more to see here. We didn’t stop by, but there are some neat historic buildings located inside the park. There is also some tent camping on the New York portion of the park if you enjoy spending the night outdoors like we do!

RIDICULOUSLY BEAUTIFUL TRAIL

Deanna and I may have had a bit too much fun with the state lines in the video, but it was a cool experience. 🙂 Besides, at that point in the trail we were sad to be so far away from the river so it was nice to perk ourselves up a bit haha. Luckily for us, it wouldn’t be too much further until we reached our primary destination for that particular hike.

SPECTACULAR WATERFALLS!

We did in fact spend the majority of our time at this park admiring the view of the Bash Bish Falls, although it did decided to start raining as soon as we got to them. We were prepared with our rain jackets though, so we took our time and watched mother nature do her thing.

It is so nice to get out and explore, but if you don’t sit back to really enjoy the view and enjoy your surroundings its not nearly as refreshing. Some people ask if we still enjoy our adventures even while we are filming/taking pictures.

Yes, it does distract us a bit, but we also love doing it! We certainly make sure we take the time to remove the camera and lens from between our view, no worries! Hope you enjoyed this little adventure! More videos are going to be just around the corner!
